How is my result calculated?

Your result and study plan are generated automatically from your diagnostic answers, without human involvement in the calculation.

For each syllabus element, we estimate how well you know it from your correct answers to that element's questions. When an element has few questions, the estimate also takes your answers across the whole diagnostic into account.

Each element is then placed at one of three readiness levels: Good start, Building or Needs work.

Your focus elements are those with the largest gap, weighted by the number of questions each element represents on the official exam. The study plan puts these elements first. Suggested study hours take that weighting, your level in each element and your exam date, if you provided one, into account.

These preliminary results are designed to guide your study. They do not predict your exam result, and CIROPrep's readiness levels are not passing thresholds for the official exam.

You may ask us for more information about the personal information used, the reasons, and the principal factors and parameters that led to your result. You may also ask to have the personal information used corrected, submit your observations, and request that a person at CIROPrep who is able to review the result examine it.
